CatComm in The Guardian — ‘How memories of clean water, frogs and fresh air could help save Rio’s favelas from future climate disaster’
Published May 14, 2025, in The Guardian, this excellent article offers a close look at our Favela Climate Memory project, now launched in its full and final exhibition form. Writer Julia Carneiro paid a visit to our launch on May 3, where over 300 favela residents, organizers, authorities, NGOs, and students experienced the groundbreaking event, product of three years’ research by favela museum members of the Sustainable Favela Network. The article makes the relevance and urgency of this exhibition clear, for informal settlements in Rio and beyond, and for our common human ability to manage future climate chaos.
