CatComm Supports Critical Vox Video “2016 Olympics: What Rio doesn’t want the world to see”
Catalytic Communities was thrilled to collaborate with the production of this critical 8-minute documentary viewed over 1.1 million times in two days on Facebook and 1.4 million times on YouTube by Johnny Harris for Vox. As Harris writes, the video investigates one of the City of Rio’s “major projects: hiding and removing poor people from view of foreign onlookers.” The video does a great job of showing the spacial restructuring which has happened in Rio in the lead up to the 2016 Olympic Games and the interests behind them, as well as highlighting the important struggle of Vila Autódromo.
