Catalytic Communities supports journalists committed to deepening understanding and knowledge on favelas in constructive ways that support their inclusive development. We do this both by speaking directly with journalists as a source, providing story ideas, and connecting journalists with a range of community voices on-the-ground, and by publishing RioOnWatch, through which media outlets can keep abreast of favela perspectives and latest events, gain nuance and perspective from researchers and observers, and get ideas for stories that have yet to be told.
